One fourth of Georgia hospitals will be paid less by Medicare due to high infection rates and other patient safety concerns.
Hospitals facing lower Medicare reimbursements include Grady (Atlanta), AU Medical Center (Augusta), University Medical Center (Savannah), Coliseum Northside (Macon) and Emory Hospital (Atlanta).
Hospitals also receive lower payments when they have too many hospital readmissions within 30 days of discharge.
